In today's job market, hiring managers receive 300-500 resumes for each open position. Thirty seconds is about
all it takes for an employer to decide to place you in the "call for interview" stack or not. On average, ten candidates will
be called for an interview. What does it take to get your resume in the top 10?

1 -- "Above The Fold" Priority. With only thirty seconds to "grab their attention", the first
step is providing a dynamic and strong introduction of you to the hiring manager. A technology overview that enables quick
assessment of your experience is critical. We'll lead with your strengths and ensure a powerful overview that engages the reader
to read on.
2 -- Presentation The "look and feel" of your resume, its visual impact, represents a significant
factor in establishing the reader's impression of your professionalism. The importance of this point is often overlooked. Ensuring that
your resume has a sharp format, is smartly organized and is easy to absorb demonstrates respect to the reader. In today's
market, this can be the difference between the average resume and one in the top ten.
3 - Mechanics. The reality is spelling counts, as does grammar and sentence structure. But
it's not about making your 6th grade English teacher happy; it's about keeping the reader's attention and maintaining their
confidence in your abilities. Careless errors and poorly written material needlessly undermine your professionalism and distracts
the reader.
4 - Impact. Technology professionals usually have very content-rich resumes, but how you say something
is as important as what you say. Your resume must engage the reader. Providing them with a simple list of duties and responsibilities
will not set you apart. Active verbs, solid transitional phrases, interesting sentence structure all help to increase readability
and depth to your message. Adding soft skills and accomplishments build confidence for the reader -- giving them a broader sense
of who you are as a professional.

The Presentation Format is a high quality, MS Word 2000 document -- visually appealing and with high impact. This format is best used when submitting your resume as an attachment or for printing. It is also suitable for scanning.
The ASCII/Text Format is a .txt document that is well formatted but contains only ASCII characters, eliminating the graphics component of the Presentation Format. The Text Format is best used when your resume should be pasted into forms -- allowing the best possible visual presentation in a forms environment.
